Love Letter to Raphina
I wanted to make a tribute to my dog, Raphina, who helped me emotionally while I was in art school. She is a funny dog that easily shifts between looking very serious and very silly.
It felt natural to showcase all her sides and all my day-to-day interactions with her throughout this video by having every scene animated in a different approach.
I chose to use Valentine-esque colors and textures to really sell the unconditional love I have for her.

After years of having Raphina hang out with me while I worked, I knew I needed to make a tribute to her emotional impact on me for the past few years. Most people who have worked with me have seen her hanging out in my background, or heard me talk about her chaotic antics.
This scene was made in a digital photo collage style. All the assets are photography, with the exception of
her leash.
I started by taking pictures of Raphina outside on one of our walks, then chopped and manipulated the photos into animation-friendly assets to animate in After Effects.
